Hilaria and Alec Baldwin are opening up about the fatal “Rust” shooting in the emotional trailer for their new TLC reality show.

The network on Monday released a look at “The Baldwins,” which follows the lives of the couple and their seven kids. The trailer begins on a lighthearted note by showing the chaos that comes with the Baldwins trying to take care of “seven children (and) six animals.”

But the teaser takes a somber turn as it delves into the events surrounding the “Rust” shooting. A gun Alec Baldwin was holding on the movie’s set went off in 2021, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

“A son lost his mom in the most unthinkable tragedy,” Hilaria Baldwin says in the trailer as overhead shots of the “Rust” set are shown. “This is never something to forget, and we’re trying to parent through it.”

The trailer then shows Alec Baldwin breaking down in tears while filming an interview, presumably about the shooting.

In another scene, the actor tells his wife, whom he married in 2012, “Honestly, from the bottom of my soul, I don’t know where I’d be if I didn’t have you and these kids.”

In addition to his seven kids with Hilaria Baldwin, Alec Baldwin also shares daughter Ireland Baldwin, 29, with his ex-wife Kim Basinger.

TLC said “The Baldwins” will blend “the highs and lows of family life, with the challenges and humor that come while raising a large family in the public eye,” and it will include “candid discussions about mental health.”

According to the network, the premiere follows the couple as they “navigate the emotional complexities of the moment” amid “uncertainty” as Alec Baldwin faces a criminal trial.

“This series gives viewers a glimpse into our lives as a family — the good, bad, wild, and everything in between,” Alec and Hilaria Baldwin said. “We hope viewers will connect with our experiences and the love we share. Filming the show has been an amazing journey, and we’re proud to have TLC as a partner in telling our story.”

Baldwin was charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with Hutchins’ death, but the case was abruptly dismissed in 2024 due to allegations that prosecutors and law enforcement withheld evidence. Earlier this month, Baldwin alleged prosecutors violated his civil rights and defamed him in a civil lawsuit he filed in Santa Fe County District Court.

The “30 Rock” star has always denied responsibility for Hutchins’ death, saying he did not pull the trigger of the gun. “Rust” premiered at a film festival in Poland in November, but Baldwin told Variety he did not plan to watch the finished movie.

In an appearance on David Duchovny’s “Fail Better” podcast in December, Baldwin vowed he would mount a “successful effort” to “expose what really happened” in the case, stating, “The truth of what happened has never been told.”

Baldwin also said on the podcast that his wife Hilaria “was in pain” and “suffered tremendously” during the case.

“The Baldwins” will premiere on Feb. 23.
